Hello Diuming,

Thanks for the response.

Please try the below shared procedure and confirm if this helps to restore the missing data.

1- Go to sentinel EMS > Developer >Export catalog definitions.
2- Select your batch code , Export file type "Metadata in Admin control center" and click export to generate xml.
3- Place this XML file over the below location of your machine.

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Aladdin Shared\HASP\vendors

4- Restart the "Sentinel License Manager" Service in services.msc  and check the ACC.

Please share the result.

Best regards,
Parth

Dear valued customer,

Product & Feature name are not written into the Sentinel HL key licensing Memory.

Further more to Parth update, here are the several ways the product / feature names are "shared" with the ACC.

a) on ISV/EMS machine:
when you Burn a HL Key on your system, the Sentinel LDK License Manager (hasplms.exe) creates and/or update the file "lic_names.dat" located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Aladdin Shared\HASP\
it adds the product & features names (that were contained in your EMS Entitlement) and associate it to the keyID.

b) on EndUser/customer machine:
when you send your customer a ".V2C" (HL key update), the Sentinel LDK License Manager (hasplms.exe) creates and/or update the file "lic_names.dat" located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Aladdin Shared\HASP\
it adds the product & features names (that were contained in your .V2C update) and associate it to the keyID.

PS: Same thing happens if you apply the ".V2C" update to your test "HL keys" on your "ISV side".

PPS: You can open the "lic_names.dat" with Notepad/Notepad++ to display its content, but please do not modify it, this is an "internally generated file".

c) if you are whiling to provide your product & features names to your customers even if they do not receive a ".V2C" update :

step 1- on ISV/EMS machine:
You will have to use Sentinel EMS to export your catalog definitions.

See Link below for instructions:
http://sentinelldk.safenet-inc.com/LDKdocs/WebHelp/ExportDef.htm

Export File Type as "Metadata in Admin Control Center format".
File generated is: <VendoID>.xml

step 2- on EndUser/customer machine:
You can use the ACC and go to:
http://localhost:1947/_int_/checkin.html
To apply your <VendoID>.xml file shared with your customer.

Else you can use the "LDK Licensing API" (hasp_Update) to do the same.

The file will be installed in:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Aladdin Shared\HASP\vendors\

I hope this answers your question.

Regards,
Olivier

BSOD for Sentinel LDK Run-time after most recent Windows Update on MS Surface 3 w/Windows 10

The Sentinel LDK Run-time license manager service generates a BSOD on a Microsoft Surface 3 computer after some recent updates from Microsoft. (KB4013418, KB4015217, KB 3150513 ...installed on April 25, 2017) The initial symptom after Windows update ran on my Microsoft Surface 3, Windows 10 computer this morning was that License Manager service was not running. Then, when trying to manually start service, a BSOD occurred with info related to Aksfridge.sys. After booting to safe mode and setting license manager service to Manual startup, the computer finally booted (without BSOD). I then uninstalled Run-time environment and tried to install it again, but experienced another BSOD during installation (..probably when it tried to start the service.) This is similar to the BSOD issues experienced last year on an ASUS computer, but this time it occurs with the Microsoft Surface 3. We are just waiting for our first customers to report this issue too, and then we will be "dead-in-the-water" until the issue has been resolved between Microsoft & Gemalto.

Are anyone else having problems with the Sentinel LDK Run-time environment on Microsoft Surface 3 recently?

Yes, the computer has had the most recent Sentinel EMS/LDK and Run-time (7.54) installed since it came out, so all Gemalto-related components were up-to-date, prior to the Windows Update took place.

Cant Solve: Error When Starting the Sentinel License M. with parameters 1232 0 0

Hello guys, can anyone help me identify the cause of this error:
Error when starting the Sentinel License Manager service with parameters 1232 0 0.
Status Code: 48 5 832 0.

I have a dongle license which requires this software running. Actually, every thing was fine some time ago and I cant figure out what happened so that it stoped.

1) No firewall running neither antivirus.
2) Already checked every driver for signed/unsigned. The output of sigverify shows that every thing is signed and good to go.
3) Also tried other useful commands: haspdinst -purge / -install (etc...) using both versions 7.41 and 7.54 which is the latest at this time. Both result in this error during installation.
4) I have Java, Dot Net decompilers (Red Gate one) and others, FTK, wireshark and also some Mobile fone usb drivers. Do anyone know about any conflicts?

Thank you for any help.
Have a nice day.

Thank you, I will send. However, I've tried to solve it anyway. But the error persists. And when I try to start the hasplms service, it displays Error 1067 or 1053.

Hello Diuming,

Thanks for the query.

Keeping in notice that Windows XP operating system has been declared end of support by Microsoft.

However, this particular issue seems to be related to connecting any USB device over the guest on virtual box hosted on a MAC OSX.

Could you please confirm if you are able to use any other USB device (like pen-drives etc) over the guest OS or not ?

This could help us narrow down if the issue is specific to Master Key.

Looking forward for the reply.

Regards,
Parth

Hi Master,

I have some questions about Sentinel HASP.
Q1)Is it possible to upgrade protection key and master key to driverless?
Q2)Do you provide some tools to do this action except Sentinel EMS?

thanks

Hello Diuming,

Thanks for the query.

Please find the answers below on the raised points.

Q1)Is it possible to upgrade protection key and master key to driverless?

Ans : Yes, the protection keys can be upgraded to driver-less by the help of creating a modification over the existing product. In this, we would require to select the option for "upgrade to driver-less" and then the entitlement created for that modification would be for driver-less keys.

Please keep a caution that upgrade for driver-less keys is irreversible process. Hence, the keys which are made HL-driverless can be reconverted back to driver dependent configuration.

The new Sentinel LDK Master keys are per-configured to create HL-driverless keys. However for old configuration,  you may need to do an online reintroduction to get the feature in the master key.

Q2)Do you provide some tools to do this action except Sentinel EMS?

Ans : you can alternatively use LicGen API for the same operation. The Sentinel ToolBox contains license generation  API which can be used for practicing license generation using APIs.

For upgrade to driver-less configuration, we would need to parse the respective XML while license generation.

<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <sentinel_ldk:license schema_version="1.0"         xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance"         xmlns:sentinel_ldk="http://www.safenet-inc.com/sentinelldk">    <enforcement_type>HL</enforcement_type>    <upgrade_to_driverless>Yes</upgrade_to_driverless> </sentinel_ldk:license>

For better understanding, you can take refence of the API documentaion in the ToolBox > "Help".

If you need any technical assistance then you are always invited to raise your concerns with our support technical.support@gemalto.com .

Hi

I am facing problem on my dongle, it was working perfectly on TEMS 16  but suddenly stopped working, when I insert it the driver failed to installed, I try the following:

1.       Download the latest driver version (Sentinel_LDK_Run-time_setup)

2.       Install latest USB drivers

3.       Install fresh copy of windows

4.       Try another laptop

5.       Update the driver from windows update

But still the driver failed to install, note that the red light is stable not blinking
